Training
At JJ Sunrise we specialize in barrel horses from start to finish and we pride ourselves in the fact that our horses aren’t “just barrel horses”! We have coupled our own experiences with the knowledge that we have gained riding, working, and dealing with top notch trainers and competitors to provide a program that gives each horse a chance to reach its full abilities as an athlete. Break away roping, goat tying, calf roping, team roping and pole bending along with barrel racing are all disciplines that we give our horses the chance to succeed in. Our personal horses as well as all of our client horses are given the opportunity to excel in multiple events giving them added depth, personality and a unique willingness to perform under pressure that it takes to be a winner!
Our program is designed to bring out the natural ability in each horse we ride. Creating a well rounded athlete that enjoys its job for years to come is our goal. Horses in our program are not only soft and willing but versatile, honest, attentive and respectful. From sale horses, client horses, and personal horses, we pride ourselves in the ability to find the right horse for the right person. We look at your goals, experience, and budget while we focus on finding the perfect horse match for you. We take note that just as each person is an individual, so is each horse! This method has seemed to be quite successful with many returning customers. Repeat customers are the basis of our success!
We feel that an important part of developing each horse’s talent is learning how to travel. So you may find us at a local jackpot, futurity or a rodeo with a full trailer full of horses in various training stages! Jackson ’s primary focus lies in developing young horses for futurity competition, believing firmly that futurities are the start of great careers for many, many talented horses. Jennilee is making her mark in various, associations including WPRA, amateur rodeo associations, Barrel Bashes and NBHA events.
